Craig, Abilene’s newest middle school, was established in the fall of 2007. The school, the home of the Colts, is located near Shotwell Stadium. This middle school was named for Bryon Craig, a master teacher who influenced many students during his career. He taught math from 1958-1973 at Lincoln. From 1973 until his death in 1987 he was the math consultant for AISD. He was a part of Abilene schools for 32 years. Craig, whose school colors are dark blue and silver, offers a balanced academic, athletic, and fine arts program for all students, as well as the very latest technology in all core subjects in order to leave no child behind.
